The functionality for the TCAS part is based on general specs for commercial aircrafts. It does not provide in detail the function for a specific aircraft model. It is a generic gauge, and can be simple added to any aircraft as a standalone popup window. In addition the gauge provides a AI traffic display in the ranges of 10, 20, and 40 miles.
You may have seen discussion of this recently over at Avsim but, if you haven’t, the 2d weather radar for use with Active Sky Next by Bryn Battersby is getting some very good reviews and comments from users.
The author writes; “Because the HiFi hook collects data on cloud positions and writes precipitation to match those positions, the radar returns are seamlessly integrated with the weather in the simulator.
The gauge is free, or you can pay what you reckon it’s worth. It’s available at gum.co/bryn.”
- Historic weather for the last 365 days archived and selectable; Sophisticated injection to minimize disturbances within FSX/P3D due to simconnect; Cloud depiction enhancements for a better visualization in FSX/P3D, including overcast conditions; Realistic visibility on.
Weather For Fsx
More details on the gauge, which works in both FSX and P3D, can also be found at the relevant thread on the Avsim forums, here.
